Account information (via Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google)
On iOS, Apple authenticates you and provides a unique user identifier. You may optionally share your name and email address — Apple also offers a private relay option that hides your real email. On Android, Google authenticates you and provides your Google account name and email address. We use this information solely to identify your account and link it to your household.
Household and chore data
Everything you enter into the app — household name, partner names and nicknames, chore titles, schedules, categories, completion history, star counts, and rewards — is stored in the cloud so both partners see the same state in real time. This data is associated with your account.
What we do not collect
ChoreMate uses Google Firebase (Firestore) to store household data and Firebase Authentication to manage sign-in. Your data is stored on Google's servers and is protected by household-scoped security rules — only members of your household can read or write your household's data.
Google's privacy practices apply to data stored on Firebase infrastructure. You can review Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
We use the data you provide solely to operate the app:
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
If you enable reminders, ChoreMate schedules local notifications on your device. These are generated on-device and do not involve sending any data to our servers. You can disable notifications at any time in your iPhone's Settings.
ChoreMate uses the following third-party services:
We do not use any advertising networks, analytics platforms, or crash reporting services.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties, except as required to operate the services listed above (Apple, Google Firebase). We will never sell your data to advertisers or data brokers.
Your household data remains on our servers for as long as your account is active. Signing out of the app does not delete your data — it only signs you out of the current device. Your household data remains accessible when you sign back in.
ChoreMate is a household task management tool intended for adults and families. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and notify users through an in-app notice or app update. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
